In Colombo there is no government help for low income people as here in the USA .HERE every state and city has it own rules to go by and sometimes we get hel and sometimes we don't it is a rough road to go down when trying to get help from these government run officials. I just go with the flow and do without the stress and anxiety they put you thru not worth it .Wish you luck & pray things workout for you πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’―πŸ’―

Christpher depending on where you live of course, but here where I live we have what is called Dept of Family and Children Services (DFACS). If a person is below a certain income they can apply for help with them. Good luck my friend.

Navigating the financial side of a serious surgery can feel overwhelming, but there are real strategies that can help reduce the burden. Here are some honest, practical tips:

Know Your Insurance Policy
- Understand your deductible, copays, and coinsurance
- Confirm which providers and facilities are in-network
- Never assume something is covered β€” always ask

Look for Cost Savings
- Ask if the procedure can be done at an outpatient or independent surgical center instead of a hospital (hospitals typically charge the most)
- Check if the drug manufacturer offers assistance programs for any medications related to your surgery

Scrutinize Every Bill
- Request a detailed, itemized bill and compare it to what was actually done
- Studies suggest up to 80% of medical bills contain errors β€” so review carefully before paying
- Compare your bill against your insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) line by line

Ask for Help
- If managing bills feels too much on top of managing your health, lean on a family member, friend, or a medical bill advocate
- Don't ignore bills β€” they tend to snowball if left unaddressed Most importantly, always partner with your healthcare provider to discuss financial concerns β€” many hospitals have financial assistance programs that aren't widely advertised. You deserve both great care and financial peace of mind. πŸ’™
