Anyone taking this med, does it help heart failure and kidney disease?
Thinking of trying it.
I began Jardiance with Omega 3 (fish oil) combination from my cardiologist to assist the health of my heart and kidneys. Because I have high cholesterol Jardiance was chosen as of March 2025 to keep everything in check. I am doing quite well with the medication; I drink a specific amount of water throughout the day, stay on a low-carb diet, and continue with the few heart meds that I've been taking (Metoprolol, Crestor, and aspirin) daily. Otherwise I'm doing great.
I started Jardiance almost 3 months ago for low ef "heart failure" just starting to touch the high end of the heart failure mark. Starting on the 10mg to see if it helps. Kidney function fine as is a1c levels. No side effects so far and any changes have been subtle.
Jardiance is a type 2 diabetes but it can help diabetics with heart failure and or chronic kidney disease. I wouldn't take it if I am not a diabetic.
I have been on Jardiance for about a year now for heart failure and kidney disease. I have suffered no side effects, and my conditions have remained stable.
Are you wondering if Jardiance helps with heart failure and kidney disease?
Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an SGLT2 inhibitor that doctors do prescribe for heart failure. It's mentioned alongside other heart failure medications as a treatment option.
