It's your choice. You're ultimately in charge of all your own health decisions. Having many options is good if you have the right information and fortitude to make a proper decision.
My Afib is the most serious situation I've encountered. I made several mistakes, but I caught them early and made the necessary corrections and changes. My first Cardiologist was a problem at every step. He always pressed for more testing, which I refused. He suggested other procedures and delayed my Ablation 2 times. I discharged him as soon as I had someone better. I ended up healthy, happy, drug-free, with no Afib for almost 3 years now. Celebrated my 73rd this July. Had a physical. All good, no medications or suggested changes.
The system is complicated and intimidating. Choose wisely!

CarynWebb, good day dear lady. I feel that I was, I have been and remained consistent in my opinion of how I feel have I not?The answer to How Many Doctor Specialties Are There? is complex, but generally, there are around 150 recognized medical specialties and subspecialties in the United States. Depending on the particular "specialist" you engage will determine your treatment. Never mind that the human body is a beautifully designed machine that works in concert with it's entirety. Each "specialty" has the answer / solution and plan of care without regard to other system's influences and resist losing the revenue should other treatments be better. Counsel on smoking, alcohol, diet, exercise, sleep and there is a billing code that compensates for each of these consultations! Physical therapy? Now we hit the Mother Load! A person with Months of class now is in charge of your ability to walk, breath or function again?
