I have a health factor with cognitive disability obtained at the age of 1. This health issue is not related to the heart attack that took place in 2020. The heart attack that took place in 2020 came about due to a bad diet and small amount of exercise. I have been very blessed by being given the ability to correct my daily diet and the ability to begin daily exercise so my heart can heal back to where it should be. My cardiologist is very happy with my heart health and the steps I take daily to ensure it stays in good health providing a low-carb diet daily and staying with necessary medication that has been provided to me. I stay hydrated daily, do not eat salt, and do not go crazy when eating sugary items or drinks. Everything is done in moderation now as moderation is the key to keeping a balanced and healthy diet.

Yes, Since my heart attack in 2018, my short term memory has become more of an issue for me personally. Because I have CAD, my Cardiologist informed me early on with this diagnosis that the arteries and vessels in the brain would potentially limit adequate blood flow as the disease progressed. However, as of this morning I still feel good and try to do the best that I can in life each new day. Have a blessed and healthy week!

Is forgetfulness a symptom of heart disease?

Yes, memory problems and confusion can be related to heart disease. When your heart can't pump enough blood to your brain, it can cause lightheadedness, confusion, or memory problems.

This happens because your brain isn't getting the oxygen it needs to function properly. It's good that you've ruled out dementia with your doctor. What you can do:

- Keep a daily log of when forgetfulness happens and what you were doing
- Track your heart rate daily, as changes might coincide with memory issues
- Use reminder systems like phone alarms or notes for important items
- Place frequently misplaced items (keys, phone, wallet) in the same spot every time

Important: These symptoms can be difficult to notice in yourself. Talk to your doctor about your forgetfulness, especially if it's getting worse. Family members should also watch for new or worsening confusion and report changes to your healthcare provider.

Your brain health is directly connected to your heart health, so managing your heart condition well can help with these symptoms.

They do expect cancer for my husband Dick but the samples will take about a week to be finished. They will call him then. He doesn't plan on doing much about it because his hunting buddy had cancer and he went through a lot of things that were not doing anything, just made him move slower. He died last year at 88, he felt he lived long enough. He was good for my husband because Dick lost his dad at age 10. Dick had good people filling in.
