I can only share steps that I have done after having a nerve ablation for my lower back. I am sure it's not the same thing but the best I can say is I always rest on pillows so I am comfortable after the nerve ablation, have a large mug of cold ice water on the end table by my side to stay hydrated and will not wait until the last minute when going to the rest room. I do keep notes on oddities that appear and always reach out to my specialist office when emergency issues come about.

Why are you still experiencing dizzy spells after your ablation, and what can help with the tilt test?

Dizziness after ablation can happen for several reasons. Your electrophysiologist is taking the right approach by investigating further with a tilt test to check for postural changes in blood pressure and heart rate.

While waiting for your test, here are some practical tips:

* Take your time when changing positions - sit up slowly before standing, and stand for a moment before walking
* Stay well-hydrated by drinking water throughout the day
* Avoid standing up too quickly, as this can cause sudden blood pressure drops (orthostatic hypotension)
* Keep track of when your dizzy spells happen and what you're doing at the time

For the tilt test itself, try to stay relaxed. The test monitors how your body responds to position changes and helps doctors understand what's causing your symptoms. If you take heart medications like beta-blockers or diuretics, let your doctor know, as these can affect blood pressure and contribute to dizziness.

Contact your doctor right away if you experience severe or sudden symptoms like persistent chest pain, difficulty breathing, unusual lightheadedness, or fainting episodes.

Having a follow-up plan with your electrophysiologist is key to managing these symptoms and getting the right treatment.
