@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member You need to talk to the doctor about this in all likelihood they will give you a diruetic to help get rid of the fluid. Keep us posted on what you find out. Hugs🤗

Theresa, I am so pleased that the Lasix helped. I take it every day with potassium and it keeps the edema at bay.

Weeping or leaky legs occur when fluid retention (peripheral edema) becomes severe enough that fluid leaks through the skin. This is often related to heart failure and requires prompt medical attention to prevent complications like infections or non-healing wounds.
Key steps to manage weeping legs:
- Elevate legs above heart level for one hour at a time
- Use compression wraps or socks (only after consulting your doctor)
- See a wound care clinic if recommended
- Get medical attention right away if swelling worsens or leaking begins Additional management strategies include:
- Stay hydrated (unless on fluid restrictions)
- Follow your doctor's treatment plan for underlying heart conditions
- Keep affected areas clean and protected
- Monitor for signs of infection or skin changes
- Consider asking about enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) therapy, which may help improve circulation in some cases
Remember that early treatment is crucial to prevent complications and protect your skin from further damage.
