I had a heart attack 2 weeks ago, and had 4 stents put in. I am schedule for multi bypass surgery in September. They told me that I should start to slowly walk after 2 weeks since the heart attack, but I just don't have the wind or the energy to walk. All I do is sleep. I'm 64 years old, and prior to the heart attack I had more energy than this. Is it normal for me to be so very tired after 2 complete weeks of total rest and sleep?
Thank you.
It's hard to get started Ray. 10 months ago I could not stand up without help. Today I'm stronger than I have been in decades. I had to start very slow. What has worked well for me is to go until I'm a little tired , then rest until you catch your breath then go again. I repeat throughout the day, resting as long as needed between sets. Gradually you should notice an increase in strength. I wish you the best.
Oh and Ray, stop whatever you are doing if you have ANY chest pain.
