How can a morning wake-up routine positively impact heart health and overall well-being?

A consistent morning routine can genuinely make a difference for heart health. Starting the day with intention helps reduce stress, which is important since stress can strain the heart.

Here are some morning habits worth considering:

- Wake up at the same time each day — a consistent sleep/wake schedule supports your heart's natural rhythm
- Gentle movement — light stretching or a short walk gets blood flowing without overexerting yourself
- Eat a heart-healthy breakfast — avoid high-sugar, high-salt options that can spike energy then crash it
- Hydrate first thing — dehydration drains energy and can affect heart function
- Practice mindfulness or deep breathing — even 5 minutes can lower stress levels

Building these habits gradually is key. Small, consistent changes tend to stick better than overhauling everything at once. As always, check with your cardiologist before adding any new physical activity to your routine — they can help tailor a plan that's safe and effective for your specific situation.
