In this episode, listeners will hear about the history of pacemakers and defibrillators, both with and without leads. Potential risks and complications associated with transvenous cardiac devices are discussed. The listener should gain an awareness of leadless pacing and extravascular defibrillator systems.

Angela, since this is a shared video from YouTube, I don't have any answers for you. I think the best way to get your questions answered is to discuss it with your doctor. I will do a little research and see what I can find that might help.
Which age group would you recommend having these wireless lead defibrillators devices? I am 63 years old and wondering if it would be beneficial for myself who has a lead defibrillator. Also I have had to have a couple of MRI’s in the past, does the new wireless defibrillators make it any easier to have a MRI?
@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member, I cannot find any information for you regarding your question about age. I think that a lot of it might depend on your condition. I found this article from Harvard Medical School that says new devices are easier to get an MRI they do not specifically talk about the leadless devices. I think the best source at this point would be your doctor. Here is the article.
