Interesting article BUT I feel that there are many variables,idiosyncrasies and environmental forces that affect and even control our sleep patterns.While your brain sets your circadian rhythm, external factors can also influence it. There are night people and day people! We are all very different and finding our "groove" is key I feel. I've worked all shifts, split AND weekend holiday shifts. Retired now, I find @ 4 or 5 hours sleep at night and 4 or 5 hours mid day works great!
I know eight hours of sleep is recommended, BUT we can’t just hope it will happen and have success. My sleep patterns are all over the place even though I do depend on meds to help me sleep, and have for years. Even with this help, I have nights when I get NO sleep, zip. Why is this?! I review what I’ve done, what I’ve eaten, was I under more stress than usual. There seems to be no answers.
