Or have to use up all your hard earned 401 k that you saved for retirement before you qualify. 😪
BarreinBob that is what it takes most of the time is to go to court and fight for what is rightfully yours ,SSA act like us hard working baby boomers are looking for a hand out of money we put in the system for us ,that's the crazy part ,having to fight these people for our money.and I bet 50cent to a dollar they have no problem getting the money when they retire out or go on medical disability and probably don't wait 6 months for it all to clear.
Yeah Jim if they force you to retire early you loose money because of your age, but if you go out on disability you good & you get more benefits coverage, early retirement hurts you as for as benefits coverage is concern .my ex wife put 20 years in DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES and forced to retire because of her health issues she was only 59 at the time & she got cut real bad as farms a pay out & couldn't get any medical benefits, all out of pocket for her meds now at 62 she gets a little help with meds but luckily we are taking same meds so i shared my meds with her ,I would get 90 day supply and give her a bottle of the meds we both are taking with same mgs ,to help her keep it pumping. People have to know the difference in going out on retirement and medical disability.
Yessssssss as most of us baby boomers, I started working legally at 15 and 1/2 here in NC WE can get work permit 6 months b4 our 16th birthday but work part time ,during school only work about 20 hours a week. So I have worked about 50 years with some time off thru ot th years but pretty study work at least 40 straight years.but last few years up till I got sick I was a sub contractor so that kind f hurt me with the money I could have gotten FROM SSI because I wasn't putting money back in the system for two years ,but I still came out OK. I think you will be OK but just take longer now that Trump has the system so messed up and so many has lost their government jobs all across the country so just stay calm and stay on top of things ,calls may not get answered because of the shortage of people.
I did application, and appeal by myself. Made it through on 1st appeal. My uncle assisted seniors in the process when he was retired before passing. Told me I was lucky and 2 appeals was typical.
