Ricky, it depends on what type of CHF you have. There are a lot of treatments now available, so it depends on how it is treated and how well you take care of yourself. That 5-year nonsense is old data. I have had mine for over 5 years and I am doing just fine. I have right-sided diastolic heart failure with fewer treatment options. Hugs

Life expectancy with heart failure varies depending on the stage of the condition. For those in early stages who take steps to manage their health, life expectancy may be similar to the general population. In stage C heart failure, studies show that about 75% of people survive at least five years after diagnosis. For those with advanced (stage D) heart failure, life expectancy is typically shorter - less than 5 years on average. However, there is still hope, as 20% of people in this advanced stage live longer than 5 years. The key to maximizing life expectancy is working closely with your healthcare team, following prescribed treatments, and making recommended lifestyle changes like maintaining a heart-healthy diet, managing stress, and getting adequate sleep.
