Cliff3, oil pulling is interesting. I do use therabreath mouthwash as well as flossing. The only thing is the 20 minutes to do the oil pulling routine ...I don't spend 20 minutes on hair and makeup in the morning....I will ask my dentist when I see him. I believe he would be receptive to this.
I’m an obsessive Visitor to the Dentist 3 visits for cleaning every single year and whatever is required for other work! I floss three times a week and thus far have not succumbed to AFib or other blockages of the arterial cavity! I do have LBBB So I have a defibrillator/Pacemaker combo that is set to keep my ventricles from banging in to one another! And in sync and occasionally my pacemaker kicks in to regulate my heart rate but my heart is doing most of the work! I have small vein disease that there is nothing to do about that watch and wait!
Because there was no follow-up of ongoing flossing or dental habits with the participants over the years, I find this study to be flawed in its conclusion. But I still floss and think it is a good habit. I do some oil pulling with a commercially prepared oil made for that reason in the PM as well as a tongue blade in the AM. I have not lost a tooth since I became an adult out of foster care and was able to pay for my own dental care. I'm 69. This is an area that is finally getting attention. Too bad medicare doesn't do more.
Try oil pulling. I use coconut oil.

Janine, geez, I probably floss too much. I floss after I eat. I have gum disease. It feels like a part-time job. However, I have to do it. It is early stage and am determined to keep my teeth. Take care all
