I would suggest You write a Log ( as silly as it seems) over the coarse of changing over ... I am As you said On Furosimide 40 Typically take the tab 1 x in the am , unless I am expecting to be at tge doctors for an extended time or something Like that I was supposed to have Jury Duty tomorrow was cancelled but If I delay or not take one I find WHen I take it again I have to urinate More and often takes me a day or two to settle back to normal but the idea is to rid excess so IT might show up in the ankles or Other locations or be unseen as well

Tommy I would generally say the side effects are typical of a water pill but There are a couple of factors you should consider since your living in Florida though You've been there long enough it shouldnt affect you as much as it would affect Me moving down there anyway ... I take Lasix and I think Thats easier then this can be IF you get into reading the page they published here >>
https://www.drugs.com/mtm/chlorthalidone.html specially when it comes to
kidney disease;
heart failure;
gout;
high cholesterol or triglycerides;
diabetes; or
if you are on a low-salt diet.

There are a few other things such as heat and LIGHT sensitivity The Medication Might weaken or go bad It gives good instruction on how to take it am with food and If you have any issues you need to mention them right away to your doctor
