Why is it that my AFIB seems to show up in the early morning, lasting until I wake up? I have a FitBit watch that tracks it and show. It rarely shows up during the day, only a few times has this happened.

I wouldn’t schedule an Ablation or other medical procedure based solely on FitBit results, however, I might have never seen a doctor if not for my FitBit. First visit to my PC doc caught my Afib on EKG. The next 3 med EKGs did not. I don’t trust my first cardiologist. My FitBit started showing over 12 notices per day with several incidents in each within the week after I got the first Pfizer Covid vax shot. And continued until the morning of my Ablation. A mobile Kardia won’t catch Afib if not active during test.

Assuming I would not see a cardiologist for Afib until I had real symptoms or a general physical caught it, my Afib would be 15 months or more advanced before treatment. Not bad for a sports watch. And it tells time. I trust FitBit … at least for time.

Check with your cardiologist. What treatment are you on? Any symptom change?

My primary are doc liked Fitbit My roommate in college is a cardiologist and said he should get one based on my experience. Fitbit is a tool to be used properly. Sounds to me like FitBit is notifying you of a change that could be important. Take good care of yourself and use your tools.

I am glad you went to a doctor after FitBit showed you to have AFIB. I had already been diagnosed with it but it would have helped if I had had it sooner. Of course, doctors are going to tell you not to trust these devices. Even the device says it is not a diagnosis and to see your doctor. However, it helps us keep up with our own health and not have to depend on a next doc visit.
