A good explanation of why this is so complicated and requires such a diverse medical team. I can pinpoint the week my Afib started and the day it ended. I charted the successful procedure before seeing the first doctor. I used 6 different doctors, countless techs and tests before I could proceed with this procedure. The blood in my urine delayed my ablation at least 3 months. All these doctors found many things that were not causing this problem then cleared me. I ended up keeping my mouth shut to keep on schedule. In retrospect I would have shut up earlier, stopped taking my Eliquis until the week before my ablation. None of these pros appeared to realize or be concerned that the issue was the same as when they delayed the ablation.

I think this is the result of over specialization, over testing, too much cya with too little communication. I will handle thing better next time and thankfully I have a next time. I think this would have gone better and faster if my new cardiologist had been in charge from the beginning. My primary care was on track and concerned but mostly out of the loop until after ablation. I also should have gone directly to the doc that did my ablation, explained my concern and my readiness to proceed.

But this sad story has a happy ending. Perhaps I am just too impatient a patient.
