What Should I Do When I Can't Barely Climb Stairs Anymore?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

My bedroom is upstairs and I can barely climb the stairs. I had a new clear stress test and it did show some stuff going on in possible underlying coronary artery disease. I'm getting worse symptomatic and worse off. Considering my bedroom is upstairs I'm not really sure what to do it's been suggested I go to a assisted living home but I'm only 39 years old... Any suggestions?

Get a stair lift chair. Check your insurance. Used lifts are frequently available. Move your bedroom to the first floor. Search Google or Amazon for “stair climbing aids.”

I do hang onto the railing and as long as I'm only carrying my purse I'm okay. The more I use the stairs the better I am. I'm still winded but at 85 I'm lucky to have wind. I've had this nutty idea all my life that taking the easy way is not good for you.

You are going to have to stay away from climbing and steps. It's the worst with this condition. I have the worst time with steps. My apartment was up 2 flights of concrete stairs and I had to move out. It's a no go.. sorry 💜
