Good valid point!! Fighting for my SSI, I got denied 1st time. Appealed where I was sent to psychologist and after that won my case and wasn't off physical. I advise anyone applying for disability to request a mental evaluation. Many suffer from anxiety, PTSD, depression, etc and if life long, seems to have more weight.

I didn't have a heart attack, but I have diastolic dysfunction and CHF. After a year of trying and 2 appeals, I finally got approved. What convinced them, though, was the severe depression that I have due to my illness. Once they found out about my long term depression, they weren't even very concerned about my physical health. I wish you much luck.

Because I could no longer do my job because of my badly damaged heart n congestive heart failure… I got disability on Social Security.

I've had 2 heart attacks, a quadruple bypass, my lung collapsed spontaneously and now diagnosed with interstitial lung fibrosis...also had a thoracotomy whenever my lung collapsed. I applied for disability in February of 2022...still waiting for a decision....

Heart failure wIll qualify you for SSD. They also consider your age, education, and type of work you do.
