Hello. I've recently been diagnosed with heart disease and have been experiencing extreme chest pain alot lately. It comes on suddenly, lasts for hours, and feels like a heart attack. I had a heart attack on December 28th of 2019 and received a stent. I had a painful "episode ." was hospitalized, and received a second stent but found out that what I had experienced was not a second heart attack. I tend to go along with the stress and anxiety happening. After my heart attack back in 1990, I started to have panic attacks. For my first year and a half, every time I would get chest pressure or pain my husband would race me to the ER. When I went back to my teaching after taking a semester off, I was getting the pain attacks when I was teaching My dr. put me on Ativan to calm me. I had to switch drs. when she moved from the area. My new PCP and another doctor tried different meds to find one that would help me the most so I could function better and finally came up with giving me a low dose of Prozac. That what helped me the most and I'm still on it. I am able to handle things so much better except if a new medical problem arises. Once the dr has explained everything to me and I know what to exactly accept, I can move on from there. Right now I am going through some parathyroid problems and had to get some testing done. I have the results but I need to contact an endo surgeron about what the next step is. I have contacted my cardiologist about this and I need to hear back from her. I might not need to have surgery at this time.
Could be angina. Make an appointment with your cardiologist. Your meds might need tweaking.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Mitch. It sounds like his passing was hard for you. I took your advice and talked to my cardiologist. I have an appointment on next Tuesday. I honestly don't think that this is caused by anxiety...
