Members overwhelmingly confirmed that deep emotional upset, trauma, and grief can directly affect heart health, with many sharing personal experiences of developing Takotsubo (broken heart) syndrome, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and other cardiac conditions following devastating losses such as the death of children, spouses, or beloved pets, as well as enduring long-term abuse or relationship trauma. Several members emphasized that Takotsubo syndrome is a real, diagnosable medical condition that requires testing and treatment, not merely a feeling of sadness, and shared how their broken hearts led to ICDs, pacemakers, reduced ejection fractions, and ongoing struggles with grief that never fully heals. A recurring theme was the profound connection between emotional pain and physical heart disease, with members urging each other to manage stress, seek therapy, lean on faith and community support, and recognize that unresolved trauma, chronic stress, and heartbreak can have life-threatening cardiac consequences.

The side effects of medications seem sometimes worse than the conditions they are meant to treat? "One pill makes you larger, one pill makes small, but the pills that Mother gives you don't do anything at all". Jefferson Airplane? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
