Catching Your Breath

Catching Your Breath

Happy Thanksgiving to All! Please no hurry in answering this! I have been having difficulty catching my breath for 2 weeks now! I had a horrible urinary tract infection with sepsis caused by a lodged kidney stone with 3 weeks of infused antibiotics administered through a midline at an out patient clinic! I have been to the ER, seen my cardiologist 3 times, my primary 3 times and have had every test including an echo! My EF has gone up to 40 from 25! I am seeing an GI doctor next week, to see… read more

Any One Out There On Metroplol Succinate Extended Release For A-fib

Any One Out There On Metroplol Succinate Extended Release For A-fib

Do you have problems with weight gain?
Since I've been on it, I have gained about 20 pounds. Part of it I'm sure is actual weight from not exercising and not eating right.- too many calories in, and too few cal. going out. Water weight. I'm on lasix 20 mg once a day, bit find it hard to know when I can take it because I drive bus for 9.5 hrs a day. Don't know if I'll be able to have potty break when the urge hits, so don't take it as often as supposed to.
Any thoughts

What To Do Next

What To Do Next

I was diagnosed with CHF and cardiomyopathy a little under 2 years ago. I received my ICD/Pacemaker shortly thereafter. I still have extreme difficulty sleeping through the night and find myself out of breath just walking across the room. My heart rate still vacillates between 46-165 daily. I was sent to a specialist who had me undergo a PET scan looking for cardiac sarcoidosis. I just received a call from his office and I do not have any signs of sarcoidosis and have a follow up appointment in… read more

I Get Breathless Upon Lying Flat On My Back, Why?

I Get Breathless Upon Lying Flat On My Back, Why?

Because I am still awake when this happens, I can not attribute the breathlessness to sleep apnea (OSA), but wondering if it is due to GERD/LPR. I feel like I am being chocked and it is frightening. Can this be heart related? It goes away if I sit up, but my heart is already pounding.
