Night sweats can be a symptom of several heart-related conditions that require medical attention, including:

• Heart attacks (often accompanied by cold sweats)
• Atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in blood vessels)
• Endocarditis (heart lining inflammation)
• Heart failure (as the heart tries to compensate for poor pumping)

If you experience night sweats along with symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or irregular heartbeat, seek immediate medical attention. Night sweats might also be a side effect of medications you're taking to manage heart disease, particularly beta-blockers. Additionally, some MyHeartDiseaseTeam members report increased sweating when consuming too much sodium, as the body attempts to regulate fluid levels.

It's important to discuss any new or worsening night sweats with your healthcare provider, who can evaluate whether they're related to your heart condition or if adjustments to your medication might help.

Tom, first of all, welcome to the site and my team. I also have excessive sweating when I am in an arrhythmia. It seems to be a side effect. I think some of it is the beta blockers, and when your heart beats fast, you sweat more. Especially at night. That said, I think you should consult your doctor about it and ensure it is nothing to worry about. 🤗
