I appreciate the article, ESPECIALLY since some of us experience BOTH heart issues and diabetes. Thanks Cliff.

Thank you Cliff for bringing this to my attention. Even though I wear the freestyle Libre 3 I get tired of the needle that is in there. I seem to have a scar there when it is time to take it off after 15 days.

I see such value in catching a progressive problem early before symtoms. My Fit bit recorded my first incidence of Afib then the daily occurrences until my Ablation. The issue was resolved before symptoms would have gotten me to my doctor or serious heart damage was done.

Since you have heart disease, let's focus on wearable technology that can help monitor your heart health specifically. There are several effective wearable devices like fitness trackers and smartwatches that can monitor important cardiac metrics.

These devices can track vital heart health indicators including:
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) for heart rate and rhythm
- Bioimpedance measurements for blood pressure and heart failure signs
- Photoplethysmography for blood pressure, heart rhythm, and exercise capacity (VO2 max) The real benefit is that these devices monitor your heart in real-time and track patterns over time. This data can be incredibly valuable during checkups with your cardiology team. Many devices can be set up to alert you if your numbers fall outside of normal ranges. Your doctor can help determine which metrics are most important to track for your specific situation and help you understand how to interpret the readings.
