You have become very cynical towards the medical field but you fail to look at the full picture. Doctors are the first to be sued by patients but rarely will a patient go into a doctor's office and say I don't feel good and I don't know why. You talk to your friends and your buddies and they tell you that they have the same thing and their doctor said they had this and that. And that is what you take to your doctor but when your doctor runs test on you they find that you don't have it. You don't look at what you told your doctor what was going on as to why he ran those test. Because your friend had those symptoms doesn't mean that when you tell your doctor that that they will give you the same thing that your friend is taking. When I finally went to the ER, I went for what I thought was an uncontrollable asthma attack. I thought they would give me a few breathing treatments and send me on my way. I have never had a single chest pain in my life and was informed from blood test that I was having a massive heart attack. I'm not over weight but under, I've all ways eaten a well balanced meal and exercised. The week before on my campus we had a wellness day of professors against student and I won for the most laps. But I didn't blame my doctors. They run their test on you according to what you tell them. If you give them your friends symptoms that is what they test you for. They do all that recording to protect themselves from you. You and what you've said is the common denominator.
If you don't know then tell them that, not all things need a complicated explanation.

Mary, thank you. Changing providers is frustrating. Medical practices are not prone to changing another providers plan of care. Armed with knowledge, test results and research and demanding change could shut you out. Doctors will just refuse to see you!

Mary, I notice after an appointment with any Doctor that they spend more time documenting the appointment. Most record their notes which then goes to a technician who enters to a computer. Health insurance, liability insurance and so on plus a heavy addition of lawyers?
