My cardiologist says there is nothing more they can do. But he won’t tell me what the problem is. I went to Cleveland Clinic and they did an EKG An Echo, and a left heart cath. They didn’t tell me what was wrong they just said go home. M y local cardiologist wanted to confirm what Cleveland said and did another Echo. They evidently don’t trus Cleveland. That sounds like age discrimination! I would demand answers in a way you can understand. Request all your chart and tests be given to you. Read it all. Get a medical dictionary and look up the words. Exercise mildly as you feel up to it. Rest withyour legs and feet up, like recliner several times per day or more. No added salt or fat. Hey, my grandpa lived to 102, walked 1 mile per day and drank 1 beer per day. Be happy. Enjoy life.

I was diagnosed in June of last year and my EF was 20%, I had a defibrillator implanted and I'm on a bunch of medications to relax the heart in order to heal. Last Echo showed 25-29% EF.........hopefully slowly it will get better. Never be where it needs to be but anything will help.

My experience with the LVAD is that it "might" be an option but also very cumbersome and my dad needed to go through a battery of tests, physically and mentally. He was 72 at the time and wasn't a candidate for anything else but that. He was very discouraged and uncomfortable and the recovery takes awhile. I wish you the best xoxoxo

I did rehab classes for about 7 years but unfortunately still ended up on the surgeons table
