I have been healthy until my heart attack and was completely medication free. I just got nuc stress test done. Not sure what the results mean until I see my cardiologist on the 19th. The 2 things I'm currently taking is Plavix and metoprolol. Supposedly both are just temporary medications for me
Thank you for the links to books about the myth of cholesterol
When I was about 30 and adjusting to an adult diet I met some nutricinal oriented medical friends that had me read "Super Nutrician" and reject almost all traditional thinking. Eggs are great, fat isn't all bad, sugar and simple carbs are bad, butter over margarine and mostly avoid over processed foods. This kept me healthy and med free for 40 years. In the late 1990's most men my age were going on statins. My numbers weren't bad but I was curious and did some research. I determined statins were not for me and had many side effects. I concluded serum cholesterol was not a good predictor of heart problems. Most doctors don't agree.
I've had regular physicals. A full nuclear stress test with scans in 2010, 2016 and after my Afib in 2022. Only issue was Afib in 2022 resolved with Ablation. Still med free, fit, trim, healthy. Age is my only currrent medical condition. After my team of doctors missed my kidney stones and cleared me for Ablation I Googled the symptoms and had them lasered. I don't avoid problems but do my own research, get second opinions where necessary, own my decisions and decide what is best for me. Stress has never been an issuefor me. I slept well the night before my ablation. It appears you have doubts. Research, get a second opinion then make a comfortable decision.
All the best to you.
They are right to say that. And good reason to.
I'm trying to find something more natural that's not more medication. I feel that doctors tend to overmedicate. My regular doctor offered me the shot, but since my cholesterol is normal, I would rather maintain it with a supplement that is more natural
