I thunk that cardiologist are taught to put patients on the largest dose of a statin that the body can tolerate. I have a microvascular disorder and my main coronary artery collapsed from a rare spasmodic condition. I have one stent in my main coronary artery just outside my aorta. I just had a cardiac cath done and there is no blood clots or cholesterol deposits anywhere. My body mass index has placed me underweight all my life and I've been taking a statin for almost 14 years. Yet I'm made to take a low dose statin. My cholesterol levels and well within the normal range and the new cardiac rules want it that much lower for a AMI survivor. I'm very healthy just had a heart that didn't grow other wise known as congenital defect and now it has enlarged. They need to stop the one size fits all treatment.
