This study found that aspirin works as well as warfarin in helping to prevent recurrent strokes in most patients. -

My current cardiologist says aspirin is 40% less effective than Eliquis.

Thank you. It is to prevent a stroke. The doctor told me there was a possibility or a good chance that I might not have to take eliquis but as of right now I do I will ask him though thank you for your answer very much appreciated.

β€œIs Eliquis less expensive in Canada?
The differences are striking. The annual list price of Bristol Myers Squibb's Eliquis, a blood thinner that reduces the risk of stroke, is $7,100 in the U.S. But in Japan, it's US$940; in Canada, it's US$900; in Germany, it's US$770; in the United Kingdom, it's US$760; and in France, it's US$650.Feb 6, 2024”

Plenty of room to help some patients. Or lower price to all.
