Does Anyone Have Any Heart Friendly Recipes They Can Share?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

In cardiac rehab they gave us some dishes but I didn't like the taste. I don't like anything spicy and don't like black beans. I like veggies so there must be some recipes somewhere that will work for me. I also like lentils and most other beans.

I really don’t enjoy cooking but like to eat healthy. This is an easy healthy soup for winter. I buy the Lundberg organic whole grain and wild rice mix 6 ounce box, easy to cook as directed only adding some olive olive. While the rice is cooking in a second pot I put in a cooked chicken package (any brand you like) or leftover home cooked chicken and add organic vegetable or chicken broth, mix and simmer about 20 minutes, add organic frozen mushrooms, frozen broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery or any healthy frozen vegetable combinations you like (I.e zucchini, onions, garlic, kale etc). Simmer (stir as needed) another 20 minutes or so. Laddie soup in bowls and add in the rice. Simple, easy and filling.

Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I am being too careful. Occasionally I'll eat something forbidden but I make sure the sodium is low enough. I'll try the recipes.

Spogmama Look at https://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/ they have some good recipes and look for Medetraian recipes. You can also change up your favorite recipes depending on what the doctor is asking you to avoid. If you don't like black beans then change them out for kidney beans or whatever beans you do like. I like it because it is normal food no feta-heavy options. I would love it if people shared their recipes on the site it might be really fun. https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/low-sodi...

This menu issue is a rabbit hole I feel. So many varieties and special situations regarding issues with the heart. The internet is full of different foods to avoid and foods to favor. Eat what you like and crave I feel. If you feel better YEA! If you feel worse NAH! Good luck. Your body will let you know?
