I’m sorry you’re facing atrial flutter and I’d like to pass something on to you. I too had atrial flutter and fibrillation for 3 long years. Finally I had an AV node ablation and pacemaker implant that gave me my life back. Prior to the AV node and pacemaker surgery, I had started to keep a log of every episode of what I was doing and when. It was by doing that I realized I definitely had one trigger that I could control. That trigger was cold, icy, or anything frozen that I consumed. Ice water, cold watermelon, ice cream , margaritas, root beer floats- they all had brought on one of my debilitating episodes before I zeroed in on it. Unfortunately there were obviously other unknown things that would trigger an episode too but at least I could avoid one sure thing. It gave me some relief to have discovered it wasn’t all completely random. Good luck and my very best wishes to you through this trying time.
I agree you can keep a record and sometimes find certain things set it off, in my case chocolate, decaf tea or coffee, eating to much at one time, and cold air, also if I don't get enough sleep
