They placed a clip in my mitral valve on July 31, 2023-they said repairing is better than replacing if it is possible.

I had mitral valve replaced 6 years ago doing great. It was damaged with my heart attack

Lizabeth they can replace the mitral valve. I can tell you from my own experience it has to be really bad before they will do it. You have four valves in the heart... the aorta , the mitral , bicuspid and tricuspid. It's my understanding that the tricuspid, mitral and aorta valves are the ones that most commonly need replacement or repair. I'm not sure if the aorta or the mitral gives me the most trouble...I think it's nip-tuck.
