It depends on which side of the heart they did the ablation. Right-side ablations are easier than the left-side one. Because with left side ablations, they have to break through the wall of the Atrium. Any ablation takes 3 months to completely heal so other than a follow-up with the EP doctor which they should have scheduled (about 2 months post-op). I don't know of any testing they would need to do unless there is some question about heart function. I am pleased that your ablation went so well and I hope you are still feeling well. 🤗

I had 3 cardioversion. Then 2 ablations. Dr said after first I may have a fib & he’ll do a follow up. Taking Atenolol 200mg, propafanone Xr 225mg twice daily, Eliquis 5mg twice. So far 1.5 years no AFib. However developered HCM after restrictive cardiomyopathy, now Sick sinus Syndrome. Getting a pacemaker. But no A fib.. I use the Apple Watch and love Kardia mobile > That’s the best one but not as mobile.

Had another scan late yesterday. Turns out I have 2 kidneys and 2 stones. I like to treat them equally. I was welcomed at Advanced Radiology and they did not ask for ID or insurance. I prefer the local pub where everyone knows my name. The joys of getting older.

I’m now pretty sure this is the cause of my Eliquis blood in urine issue. This delayed my Ablation about 3+ months. I am somewhat discouraged that with this high tech over specialized medical system, none of my 6 current doctors felt a need to get at the root cause of this problem. My primary care did get me in the day after my inquiry and had results the next day.

I know I must be my own advocate… I just don’t have enough hearts to get good at this. 😉

The “medical/industrial complex” … sounds ominous. Are they the group that brought us the opioid crisis? Well done from a marketing perspective.

Two weeks after ablation I’m feeling strong and not a single FitBit Afib notice. Kudos to the doctors, staff and institutions that got me here. NOW … how about confirming my Afib loss, getting me off blood thinners and actually figuring out what is causing blood in my urine. I stopped bringing it up because I didn’t want anything keeping me from this solution to the only issue all these tests confirmed. The issue a sports watch diagnosed. The procedure I found on Google and was ready to try before meeting with any of these doctors.

Maybe it’s up to me. Could this be caused by a kidney stone? I do get a pain in my right back below kidney I dismissed as muscle pain. Met with my PC doc yesterday and have a scan scheduled this afternoon. I’m breaking my Eliquis pills in half which shows improvement. I’ve gained knowledge, found doctors I like and may be free of Afib. I’ll be 71 in 4 weeks. My goal is being well, strong and energetic. I don’t expect medication will get me there.

JimJenkins I'm on a boatload of pills and it took a year for the side effects to wear off and I feel great now. In the beginning I coughed all the time and I had minor chest pain but now I don't cough anymore and the chest pain is gone. Be a good man and take your pills as scheduled. You will feel like your old self when you do.. I hope everything works out for you.
