Aortic Calcification
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had and x-rays on my hips and spine last week, I took a fall and doctor wanted to be sure I didn't mess up anything with hips that were replaced 2 years ago, and I have arthritis and a herniated disk in my back, but anyway he found I have aortic calcification, I see my cardiologist Friday, is there anything specific I should be asking about this new thing for me.
Is this life threatening ?
Am I looking at open heart again ?

Rueben Places Like "the Cleveland Clinic", The Mayo Clinic, Most of our "teaching hospitals" Yale, Stanford, U of Michigan just to name a couple have serious Cardiac programs with studying Doctors being taught and trained Can be useful, They look at and study Loads of things besides just the obvious How do I lower my LDL cholesterol with diet and foods? ( how can I help inprove besides taking Specific medications (aka statins) here are a List of things you can do every day (IN Moderation) eating red meat LESS is better then NOT giving it up same with cooling fats OLIVE oil and avacado oil are better then most other veggie oils I use 99.9 % Extra Virgin Olive oil to cook with and I had lowered MY LDL to 52 from near 95 when i began after 6 years A cardiologist put me on the atrovastatin as well,, Though I'd been doing quite well without so My point is you can control this and other things with a good Look at your habits and curb the unessisary ones like DEEEP fat fried anything except 4 times a year ( every 3 months or something its worth trying) check out they're posting at https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/...

I am now on 2 for that.
They want me 55 or lower and I am at 73 on ldl..
I was on atorvastatin and they just added another.
I am getting an echocardiogram on the 8th so they can have a look and see how bad it is.
