A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

( I describe it as a numbing dullish ) uncomfortable pain
That comes on and off
And goes from like my elbow to my fingers .
Scary to think now this maybe be heart related even thou my cardio doc says
“ my cholesterol ratio is 3.2, and not to worry. My stress test was fair , and to not bring on trouble that isn’t there.
If I tell him about this new issue he’s going to think I’m a hypochondriac, he already passed me on to his assistant who said “ see you in August for your yrly cardio… read more

Yes MaryTheresaBoyle I had numbness and tingling in my right arm and hand. Went into Orthopedics and they did a test on the nerves in the upper arm around the shoulder and found that I had a nerve there that was causing it. It doesn't always mean that it is your heart. I too have Neuropathy from my Knees to my feet in both legs and it is caused by my diabetes. Thing is that if you are not comfortable with your doctor then find a new one. One whom you feel comfortable with. I have had to do that many times because I felt their priorities were not there or they had them in the wrong place. Right now I am dealing with that exact thing. I can't afford to be looked over and put on the back burner so to speak. Here is some information on this issue: Pluralneuropathies
damage, disease, or dysfunction of one or more nerves especially of the peripheral nervous system that is typically marked by burning or shooting pain, numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness or atrophy, is often degenerative, and is usually caused by injury, infection, disease, drugs, toxins, or vitamin deficiency
Each of the drugs comes with a long list of possible nasty side effects, ranging from liver and kidney damage to pancreatitis and neuropathy in the limbs.
… the condition known as diabetic neuropathy, a gradual deterioration of peripheral nerves that generally affects old patients and initially causes a painful burning sensation in the hands and feet.
… neuropathy involving the seventh cranial nerve was caused by being hit in the face by the stick.

Tldonaldson80 it’s pretty scary right? I mean I do read that it doesn’t only happen on the left side (HA/stroke) it can happen on the right to

My mom passed last yr from a stroke she suffered on Xmas 2016.
She was basically a vegetable the whole almost 6 yrs . Her stroke was weird in the since we thought she was just dozing on the couch , we called 911( she was to late for the clot buster ) 🥲

My dads still alive 94 yrs old had several HAs , and he’s still here to talk about it 🙏🏼
