A-Fib, Heart Failure
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have A-Fib and heart failure. The A-Fib doesn’t seem to bother me, but if I do things, I get out of breath, which my doctor says is my heart failure. Anyone else with this problem?

I keep telling myself.....I just have to breathe and believe.......life happens from there.

Me, too. It is getting worse. I have an appointment next week with my cardiologist. I am going to talk to him about my breathlessness. Mayb he can’t do anything, but at least, he will know.

I think my breathing problem is due to my heart, too. I didn’t use to have this and it is getting worse.

This is exactly what my husband and I did a few years ago. Neither one of us wanted to be the one left behind when the other died. My husband won that. He died 4 years ago. I am surviving, not living.it hurts so much being alone. I do have the blessing of 2 sons. They are both wonderful to me. They miss their dad, too. It is in the small things sometimes. My husband’s clothes still hang in the closet and his other clothes are folded in a chest of drawers. I know my husband is gone, but have I really let him go? I will miss him forever. I don’t mean to leave you a sad note. Actually I am doing better than I ever thought I would. I get together with my family and enjoy it. Do not imagine I go around crying all the time. I don’t. I will enjoy Christmas with my sons and will enjoy it. A big piece of me died when my husband did. I will carry on the best I can.

I have heart failure, afib plus COPD. I've been kept alive only by the Grace of God.
My wife died August 7 2001 of advanced lung cancer. She made me promise that she could die first. I couldn't promise that but she did.
I still miss her as well.
