Members shared a vast range of ways they stay active with heart conditions, from structured cardiac rehab programs and gym workouts to everyday activities like walking, housework, gardening, and caring for loved ones. Several members described finding creative solutions when traditional exercise is limited, including chair yoga, Tai Chi, virtual reality fitness games, aquatic therapy, stationary bikes, and even counting daily household chores as meaningful movement. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, celebrating progress no matter how small (like one member's journey from barely walking to the end of the block to walking a mile and a half daily), and finding activities that bring joy and purpose rather than viewing exercise as a chore.

I would suggest to begin by walking around your house...I did this after a broken hip...Kitchen to living room to bed room...pacing several times a day as tolerated.. Then to your car and back to the house, weather permitting. .Monitor catefully...build slowly as tolerated...When in your chair do leg lifts...lift weights...5 lbs. or so repetioions as tolerated...Slow and steady...use a walker.. you will gain over time..
Allow me to send encouragement and prayers your way...

did you try to cut sodium in your food intake? no soda, no seafood due to high in sodium, just make sure to eat organic vegetables and fruits. most of our fruits here in the usa has been sprayed with some chemicals to stay longer and look fresh. I grow my own vegetables at home in a pot. i add the green leafy vegetables with my smoothie. hope you listen to some positive remarks than the people who care for you.

I go to our local gym whenever possible. At 71 I have a very busy schedule helping my single parent daughter with the grandkids. In case you didn't know, most gyms are free if you are on Medicare B and enroll in Silver Sneakers. I go to our local Anytime Fitness and they are great. Talking a walk helps a lot also. Gather your favorite music and just enjoy the scenery

Right now I dont do a whole lot. Found how the day I have heart failure that I also have kidney cancer. Diagnosed with both August 2021. In hospital May 2021 for 3 weeks with Covid. Still have lingering problems with that such as arm and leg weakness. I asked my doc about a stationary bike and he said 3 minutes a day. Oh well. But I take totally care for myself since I do live alone. Do all of my laundry, take my shower but still have to use shower chair because of unsteadiness. Do sweep my house, wash dishes, etc. Only things I dont do right now is mop, dust and clean bathrooms. Have to use 3 inhalers every day. I fhave been feeling much better as I pick up doing more and more. Would love to walk in the evenings a little bit but cannot do it alone. Having another CT scan Tuesday then will know when they will be removing kidney. The stress alone sometimes will about to do me in. Haha. Looking forward to being part of this group. Please pray for me as I go forward with the kidney removals. By the way I will be 67 next month and never, ever dreamed I would be in this position.
