I’m Being Scheduled For A Biventricular Device Implant. What Can I Expect After The Procedure?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had AFib for 10 years and had 2 cardioversions that didn’t work long term. I also have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. The “electrician doc” diagnosed cardiomyopathy with an injection fraction of 35. While I play golf or go to the gym 6 days a week, my endurance is compromised. He claims with the biventricular device, my endurance will significantly improve. If anyone has experienced the implant of the biventricular device, please offer your experience.

Hi Doc! I got mine in May and don’t know I have it anymore! Exercise on the other hand is quite complicated as I have a failed R knee replacement and need a left one so even going to cardiac rehab on the recumbent bike is VERY painful! I’m going to join the gym Asap for the pool as soon as I can get 2 tookie little bills paid off in October! I think the pool is the way to go!!!❤️🤩❤️

Hi I have AF, Had no luck with ablations and cardioversions, I have also had a bleed on the brain causing a Stroke ,so have had operation recently for Left Atria implant to stop having a Stroke. Have now recovered. Was only in hospital 3 days, the operation went well and I only had a bit of discomfort with the wounds where the implant was put into the heart. I have had no side effects and after 6 weeks i was completely discharged from hospital treatment,in good health.

I would be interested to know as well. I've had Afib for 50 years. Just recently had an ablation but still have episodes about 1 a week. I dont know if there is a "NEXT STEP" or not. I'll ask at my next appt about a biventricular device
