When i had my heart attack in may 2020, my ef was 30. It’s now November. Today i had an echocardiogram. Results are not available for a few more days. Can I expect me ef to be higher? Very curious about people’s experiences.
My EF was 20 in December 2018. In June 2020 it was 45. I don’t know if yours will come up but sure hoping it does! Good luck. The doctor has adjusted and changed my medications several times in last two years. I also completed cardio rehab and continue to exercise daily. Also adhere to fluid/sodium restrictions. It is a journey. (I have congestive heart failure did not have a heart attack.)
Hi phil. It’s ejection fraction. People without heart probs have readings of 50+. People with heart probs are lower. Years ago my ef hovered around 70. Echocardiogram immediately after my heart attack said ef was 30. Echocardiogram 2 weeks ago said ef was 45. It’s an improvement. But, I’m curious if I can ever get it above 50.
I have non ischemic dialated cardiomyopathy, lbbb, ef is 30. On coreg, Benazepril & Jardiance (also diabetic) & now have a bi ventricular pacemaker with defibrillator. Feel so much better now! Good luck on your test result. And there's lots of options to help you through this.
It all depends on how it has been treated.
