Coughing
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

3 years ago I was diagnosed with AF. I had gone to he doctor as I was coughing so much whilst lying in bed, and unlike a normal cough, it was not going away..

I had 2 treatments at the hospital, rebooting my heart, which worked, but has now reverted to Arterial Fibrillation, for which I take medication which helps. I am not too bad but have trouble walking hills, and have blue lips.

Ian, can you elevate your head? That might help. When did you last see your Dr? Maybe you should go see him. All that coughing can’t be good for you.

No, my cough was persistent day and night. That said, re-flux will burn your throat and upper chest. It can be as bad as heart pain. I would not say anything more about night cough... let them deal with one thing at a time. It has been my experience that when we (patients) link symptoms it skews the problem the docs can solve. It may be that your cough will go away if they change your drugs, then your connection to the night cough is for not. Just my thinking.
Hope this helps. All the best.
