Statin Drugs
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else stopped thanking their statin drug? I have and my colestrol is perfect on the target so why would I continue to take that horrrid drug , any feed back? I had 3 stents in the LAD 2016

Sorry forgot to mention...my doc says it is the gold standard to be on a statin, recognizing that there are benefits, too. Docs weigh the gravity of benefits against the risk or drawbacks. This says to me that if you insist to be off it based on your own research that you should ask your doc for their sources, so you can understand their rationale.

The statins also stabilize any plaque type blockages you have. So I stay taking them even if my blood numbers are good.

I asked my doc to get off mine too, the best she would agree to was half dose. You might want to keep it...for maintenance of your healthy levels.
