Can You Still Get A Blood Clot If You Are On Plavix?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been on Plavix for a little over a year, but I'm having pain in my right leg right below my knee into my shin and in the back of my k nee. Because of my heart problems, I sit a lot. Just wondering if I could have DVT

Hi Tish l
Any Cardiac patient who is on Plavix or any other Blood Thinner .
Should go to the ER ASAP if they are experiencing serve leg pain.
As I mentioned in the past I had to stop the Plavix it was destroying my GI tract.
I was on it for 9 months just hope and pray that there are know repercussions.
Be well
My best

I've been on Plavix for 12 years and have had no issues with blood clots. If you think you may have a BC please go to the ER or call your doctor to get it checked out. I believe you can still get blood clots even if you are on blood thinners. Better to get it checked to be safe than sorry.

I have a question I was in the Catherazation LAB in 2016 had 99%Blockage.Three 3 stents they were about to Stent the 4th Artery and it tore. Was in ICU for about a week heart pump etc.
When back to Cath Lab in 2 months they wanted to Stent Artery was not healed. Then went back again when they went to pull it down and stent it was about to Rip again they decided to leave the Artery alone.
The Cardiac Physican said ideally it should be stented.
What happened if u leave the Artery unstented
Thanks much

Hi
All these meds are excellent blood thinners.
The side affects must be watched as said paying attention to our bodies is most important.
Be well
