Congestive Heart Failure
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have congestive heart failure. My injection fraction went from 31% to 40% doing cardiac rehab. But now I'm getting winded more frequently along with heavy fatigue. Some days, I feel weighed down and sad. My cardiologist looks at me like I'm imagining this. I will be going for a second opinion. How can i get a good night sleep, as my heart hurts at night. So therefore I'm tired the next day as I have to go to work.

I have end stage congestive heart failure. My ejection fraction is 20%. My left side of my heart pumps 3 liters of blood per minute. Normal heart pumps 5-6 liters per minute. My understanding from my team of doctors is that the amount of blood your heart pumps per minute determines the severity of the heart failure more than the ejection fraction.

To the lady that has to work and feel so tied and heart pains at night, how are you doing now? I hate to say you may have to quit working. Hugs.

Yep! Some days I feel like I have been hit by a truck. Others like someone pumped up my balloon a bit to give me energy. On the truck days, have finally realized my body is saying I need you to rest and take care of yourself. My heart is tired.
