Yes your heart rate goes up with exercise, but when you're resting and not exercising your heart rate will be lower than if you didn't exercise at all. athletes have very low heart rates because of frequent activity. Exercise also helps your blood pressure immensely. Sendintary lifestyle is a killer. With frequent exercise your resting pulse will get lower. So for 60 minutes a day my heart rate is higher when walking, but when I'm not walking its lower than it would be with no exercise.

Wow, you go gal, that is wonderful amount of exercise. I also take metoprol. I guess keeping the heart rate a bit slower helps to reduce the stress. And the cardio exercise improves blood circulation .Lipitor gave emotional issues, I was switched to Crestor.

Debra, I am 5’3 and weigh 135. About 10 pounds more than I want to. I have held this weight for 10 years at least. When I was working I weighed 120, but I was up and down halls all day and often worked 12-14 hour days. I could not do it now though. I hope that with the cutting out of those starch’s, I lose a few pounds, but if not it is OK. I would rather have some extra to fall back on if I get sick again, and can’t eat. I have Gastroparisis that was caused from the surgery to remove adhesions. Medical mistakes caused the infection that caused adhesions to obstruct the bowels. That condition happens when the vegas nerve at the bottom of the stomach is damaged, and the stomach can’t empty. There is no cure for it. Diabetes can also cause the problem.your weight for your frame size and height is good. Don’t worry about it. Be content, and happy with your beautiful self.
