A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

With regards to GTN spray ive always been told if exercising and get chest pain rest if it goes away no problem if it doesnt go away after a minute or so use GTN spray if pain goes awsy good. If it doesnt dial 999 use spray again and chew aspirin.
But what if you are just sitting there and you get chest pain
Do i need to do anything

Thank you
Im fine at present it has happened to me and i did nothing i really need to know what to do if it happens. I sometimes get pain in my chest but its never normally really bad and its generally in the centre. I have suffered for years with IBS pain and also had a couple of occasions when i have had scares and ambulance have come taken me to hospital and its not been heart attack on one such occasion it turned out i must of had a gallstone blocking somewhere as i went yellow after a couple of days.
I never knew i had my heart attack before i thought it was possible thats y i called ambulance but the crew and hospital all said no not having heart attack.
So for me its a matter of every pain i get i start thinking it could be which often makes pains worse as often its my IBS pain which happens in my chest.
If it gets to be bad pain i will always make sure i call someone ie 911 or 999.
Im sure im ok
One doctor made me laugh he said you had your bypass so you wont have a heart attack for at least the next 10 years. Felt like saying can my wife have that in writing

Hi Robin
I must admit i much prefer the warmer weather.
IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome along with it i have been told a good few years ago that i had the startings of something called Diverticulitis which flares up sometimes making my stomach really bad.

thank sounds like great news. just be careful. it is cold like 61 today is the high and then tomorrow will be 74. I hate it when the weather goes up and down. I'm ready for fall. Can I ask what is IBS pain? I have never heard of that before? but it was good that you went to the hospital better to be safe then sorry. At least that is my motto. hugs for the weekend.

If I get it again I will I promise. Most of my pains I'm sure are my IBS but then if it gets really bad I will call. That's a promise I've got a lot of life to live yet
