I have a holdall packed with everything I need if I have to go into hospital. This includes a file with letters etc from doctor and consultants at hospital outlining my heart condition and what operation and procedures have been carried out also a List of medications I take. I. An just pick it up and go.
Living in Texas - Yes I do. Like others have stated I have a print out of my med list from hospital I attend, my health conditions are listed, basically a small print out of my medical records and other important documents.
If there were no power, or electronics were down for a time, I figured an actual printed list from my hospital should do the trick. I actually carry a small "go" bag all of the time, only because I am at the point where my body kind of does it's own thing, and I follow suit.
I have now did it on Friday. Very happy that it is done.
Whenever I see my doctor he asks for recent BP readings, plus he wants to know what meds I'm on at the present time. I see other physicians besides my Primary Care Doctor so he wants to make sure he is up to date on my meds. My physician is connected to our local hospital and should I have to go, they will know my meds. Whenever I go on vacation, I take my meds in my little bag in case I need to go to a hospital in another state. During storms, I have my little bag to take to the basement with me. It isn't a mental thing but something that is very important for my own well-being. I look at it this way.. being prepared means I care about myself and my children enough to do my best to stay alive in bad situations.
I keep all my medication together, and always have clothes to grab, just in case. But guys don't worry as much about appearance as women to, lol.
