Can you still attend Silver Sneakers cardio classes with AFib and an ablation scheduled in November? Great news — Silver Sneakers-style classes can actually be a wonderful fit for people with AFib!

One MyHeartDiseaseTeam member shared a very similar experience: "I take a Silver Sneakers exercise class that has cardio, strength training, and resistance as part of the program. Most are chair exercises and a few standing exercises. It has helped me a lot." That said, with an ablation coming up in November, it's really important to check with your cardiologist first. They can give the green light and tailor any recommendations to where you are right now in your treatment journey.

Here are some general tips to keep in mind if you do attend:

- Start slow and warm up gradually before class
- Stay hydrated — dehydration can actually trigger AFib episodes
- Monitor how you feel throughout the class
- Stop immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations
- Be mindful of your heart rate — AFib medications like beta-blockers can affect it, so standard heart rate targets on machines may not apply to you

Low-to-moderate intensity exercise, like what Silver Sneakers typically offers, is generally well-suited for people with AFib. Just listen to your body and keep your care team in the loop!
