Pure cacao (especially dark chocolate with 70% or higher cocoa content) is rich in flavonoids, which are natural compounds that may help:

- Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease
- Support healthy blood pressure
- Improve circulation Using raw honey as a sweetener is a thoughtful choice since it's more natural than refined sugar. However, it's still a sugar, so moderation is key β€” too much added sugar over time can increase heart disease risks.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Stick to 100% cacao with no added saturated fats or processed ingredients
- Keep sweetener amounts small
- Avoid adding full-fat dairy like whole milk or cream

Always check with your cardiologist or a dietitian to make sure this fits your personal heart health plan. They can give guidance tailored specifically to you! πŸ’›

Makes good hot cocoa. Grew up with this, maybe not refined like this, my mother used to dissolve ( I think it was a teaspoon, and I am sure she used sugar to sweeten it ) in some boiling water, then heated enough milk to make a cupful, my sister and I loved it.

I don't really use hershey's a lot unless I've got a migraine. That's the only thing that kicks it. I focus more on healthy items by setting the diet a specific way and have particular vitamins that I had setup with the cardiologist at the time. As of 2025 when I began Jardiance a particular vitamin supplement was requested for addition with this medication. In addition to having what was mentioned above, I was also asked to increase hydration to a specific amount per day. I have actually been working with a particular smart phone app that helps me track hydration intake throughout the day whether it is water, tea, or morning coffee.
