That's a fascinating study! Research consistently points to a core group of risk factors that are behind the vast majority of heart attacks. Here are the four key culprits most commonly identified:

- High blood pressure (hypertension) β€” damages blood vessels and strains the heart
- High cholesterol (especially LDL or "bad" cholesterol) β€” causes plaque buildup in arteries
- Smoking β€” damages blood vessels and reduces oxygen flow
- High blood sugar / diabetes β€” damages blood vessels over time The encouraging news is that all four of these risk factors can be managed or significantly reduced through lifestyle changes and medication.

Some practical steps include:

- Eating a low-salt, low-saturated fat diet
- Getting regular physical activity
- Quitting smoking
- Taking prescribed medications consistently
- Attending regular check-ups with your doctor

Working closely with a cardiologist to monitor and manage these factors is one of the most powerful things that can be done to protect heart health. Small, consistent changes really do add up! πŸ’ͺ
