What’s One Thing About Heart Disease That People Rarely Discuss But Should?
Depression and the “why me?” Question are common. Seeking therapy or joining support groups can be of great assistance
I believe that when you are diagnosed with hart problems you should be handed a card with psychologist or therapist, they can help you deal with it.So your mind doesn't play!
I think the importance of family support is something that isn’t spoken about enough. Without my wife (who sat at my bedside during a 90 day hospitalization) I honestly don’t know if I would have survived CHF for 25 years. She does a great job researching meds, drs, hospitals, advances in heart care. She’s very much in tune to any symptoms I experience even before me. As annoying as it can be she watches what I eat like a hawk. God bless this woman!!
Enjoy each day as it comes . Trust God
The biggest struggle I’ve had is feeling alone in this situation. I was born with HOCM w/left ventricular arrhythmias. Then in 2015 was diagnosed w/CHF. Most days it feels like there’s no one else around that understands what it’s like to live with this. Even when family claims to understand they’re not living with it and don’t know what it’s been like my whole life. So I feel alone most of the time and there are no local support groups.😔
