This happened few times before, and I would get up and do deep breathing and it goes away . It scares me every time it happens. I don't know if it has something to do with my ICD device.

Yes, people with heart disease can experience being jolted awake with heart palpitations and shortness of breath. This can be due to several reasons:

- Heart Disease Symptoms: Symptoms like chest pain, discomfort, and trouble breathing can make it difficult to stay asleep.
- Orthopnea: Shortness of breath that worsens when lying down can disrupt sleep.
- Paroxysmal Nocturnal Dyspnea: Sudden shortness of breath during sleep can wake individuals up.

These symptoms can cause significant sleep disturbances for those with heart disease.

Yes it happens to me when I get restless. I have a bipak to help me breathe much better at night. I don’t nap during the day unless I don’t get enough rest the night before. Hugs
